Planning a safari with Classic Zambia? Each of our camps has its own character, setting, and way of bringing you closer to the wilderness. Here’s a quick camp-by-camp guide to help you choose the right mix of adventure and comfort.


Kutali – Lower Zambezi NP

Open: 1st April – 15th November (Low Season 1st April - June 30th, High Season 1st July - 15th November)

A simple, elegant tented camp shaded by Winterthorn trees along the Zambezi. With just six tents and one Guide or Tour Leader tent (12 guests max), it’s intimate, relaxed, and full of wildlife.


Highlights:

  • Game drives, walks, canoeing, boating, fishing

  • Fans in rooms, bucket showers, running water hand-basins

  • Laundry included

  • Limited WiFi

Chula Island Camp – Lower Zambezi NP

Open: 1st April – 15th November (Low Season 1st April - June 30th, High Season 1st July - 15th November)

Set on its own island on the Zambezi, Chula is a true wilderness haven in the heart of the park. With just six tents and one Guide or Tour Leader tent (12 guests max) we ensure exclusivity, with the river channels your constant backdrop.


Highlights:

  • Game drives, walks, canoeing, boating, fishing

  • A short pontoon crossing for activities further afield

  • Fans in rooms, bucket showers, running water hand-basins

  • Laundry included

  • Limited WiFi

  • Charging facilities in rooms and main area

Think: a true Robinson Crusoe-esque “island escape” with more elephant than people!


Musekese Camp – Kafue National Park NP

Open: 1st May – 30th November (Low Season 1st May - June 30th, High Season 1st July - 30th November)

Our longest established camp (2012) Musekese is a firm favourite and highly requested - 'Eden' Lagoon views and thriving wildlife. With just five tents and one Guide or Tour Leader tent (10 guests max), it balances intimacy with incredible game viewing.

  • The Kamasot Hide (WiFi, Power, Toilet)

  • Conservation Experience (Musekese Conservation)

  • Pontoon-boat lunches

  • Isolation and exclusivity

Think: a conservation-first safari with lions, leopards, and research projects right on your doorstep and with zero other camps or vehicles to be seen


Ntemwa-Busanga – Kafue National Park

Open: 1st June – 31st October (Low Season 1st June - June 30th, High Season 1st July - 15th November)

On the Southern edge of the famed Busanga Plains, this seasonal bush camp brings you close to one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife areas. With just a handful of chalets (brand new for 2025), it’s all about atmosphere, setting and wildlife.


Highlights:

  • Game drives in the plains (extended drives and all-day drives available too)

  • In-camp bird hide (and WiFi area)

  • Fans in rooms, bucket showers, running water hand-basins

Think: wide-open horizons, roan antelope, cheetah, lechwe, and lions in the misty morning light - a photographers dream destination


Kutandala – North Luangwa

Open: 1st June – 31st October (Low Season 1st June - June 30th, High Season 1st July - 15th November)

Our newest addition (opening fully in June 2026) brings Classic Zambia to the remote North Luangwa. With five tents (10 guests max), it’s the very definition of off-the-beaten-track - this is big game country!


Highlights:

  • Game drives, walking safaris, and time at hides

  • Sleep-out options

  • Flushing toilets, bucket showers, running water basins

  • Charging facilities in rooms and main area

Think: raw wilderness, Rhino country!, walking yes but not only, and a safari for true explorers.


Lwenge River Camp – Kafue National Park

Open: 1st April – 15th January

Exclusive-use and private, Lwenge is ideal for families or groups, with just 4 rooms (including a family unit) taking 10 adults plus children. Open longer than our other camps, it’s one of our most flexible and cost-effective options.
